Both teams had new players in their lineup, UTE had Phil Bushbacher playing his first game and Eric Pance was back from suspension. Ales Sila and Karol Csány were missing with József Pleszkán getting the start in net. DVTK had Garrett Clarke for the first time with Balázs Gőz back from suspension however Kalvin Sagert was still suspended and Adrián Tóth still out with an injury and Dávid Gyenes was in net. DVTK was up 1-0 before the game was five minutes old on a goal by Keegan Dansereau, five minutes later he scored his second of the game to give DVTK a 2-0. Before the period was out the league leaders were up 3-0 with Nikandrosz Galanisz scoring an unassisted goal. Újpest got their act together in the second period when Bushbacher made it 3-1 and before the period was out Dániel Kiss set up Tamás Virág on the power play to make it a one goal game. The game stayed a one goal game until late into the third period when Ádám Fekti scored to make it 4-2.
FTC-DAB 5-3
Ferencváros had Olivér Ágoston back as the starting goalie and Adrián Hüffner played his first game with his new team Dunaújváros had Breton Lindoff in net. Fradi scored early when Jereme Tendler scored from the right faceoff circle during the first shift of the game, minutes later Vladimir Dubek scored from close range to make it 2-0 and before the period was out it was 3-0 on a second Tendler goal. Marko Luomala made it 4-0 but right as if it looked like Fradi would pull away Dunaújváros mounted a comeback. Brad Smith set up Mike McCann for the first goal in and in the closing second of the second period Imre Peterdi scored a power play goal. In the opening minutes of the second period René Léránt scored on the man advantage to make it a one goal game. Juha Hietamaki scored on a back door goal to put Ferencváros back up by two.
