MOL League: FTC is in, Volán and UTE win

UTE-Brasov 5-2

Újpest was going for revenge after Brasov won the last game that they played at the UTE rink, József Pleszkán was starting in net for the home team who had a full roster. Brasov was playing with the same roster from the night before with Zoltán Tőke starting in net starting in net. Martin Turbucz and Ádám Hegyi puts Újpest up 2-0 in the first period but Árpád Mihály cut it to a one goal game in the opening minutes of the second period. Minutes later Hegyi struck again, this time on the power play to put UTE back up by two. Mihály scored late in the period to bring Brasov back to within one goal. The third period was all UTE as Ádám Pichler and Eric Pancé both found the back of the net.

AV19-DHK 2-1 OT

This was an important game for Debrecen as a win could give them fourth place in the regular season. Janis Kalnins was the starting goalie for Fehérvár, missing was Ádám Z Hegyi, Márk Szaller and Attila Reiter were all missing. Debrecen was missing Bronson Kovács and Kasper Emanuelsson because of suspension, Norbert Csíki was also missing, Ádám Vay got the start in net. The game started off with the puck not crossing the goal line in the first period. In the second period Donát Szita scored  to make it 1-0 for Fehérvár as the young forward scored his first MOL League goal of his career. The home team lead until there was just under ten minutes left in the game when Ákos Berta found a way to get the puck into the Fehérvár net. The score stayed tied for the remainder of the game, in the first minute of overtime Dániel Szabó scored to give Volán the second point.

FTC-SC 2-0

This was a must win game for both teams, where the three points would give them a guaranteed playoff spot. Ferencváros was missing Linus Schellin, Bence Zalavári, and Attila Rafaj with Krisztián Budai getting the start in net. Csíkszereda was without Ede Mihály who was sitting out a suspension and Huba Bors, Marek Peksa was in net. Just past the five minute mark of the game there was a scramble in front of the Csíkszereda net when Zalán Fliszár stuffed in the puck to give Fradi a 1-0 lead. The score stayed the same for the rest of the first and into the second period as neither team took advantage of the scoring chances. In the second period Csaba Papp released a shot from the right faceoff dot that ended up behind Peksa to put up FTC 2-0, Budai went the distance for the shutout as Ferencváros qualified for the playoffs.
