MAC was playing without suspended players Drew Olson and Dezső Roczanov, how ever they had Kristóf Schmál back in the lineup and Bence Bálizs in net. For the home team Áron Könczei was sitting out for a suspension also missing were Kasper Emanuelsson and Danil Kaskov, starting in net was Denis Khramtsov. After a scoreless first period MAC struck first when Michael Quinn went coast to coast, picking up the puck in his own and putting it past the Debrecen keeper. István Terbócs doubled the MAC lead when he skated down the left wing, cut in and nicely slipped the puck past Khramtsov. Later in the period MAC scored twice in less than a minute, when Jeff Hayes put a rebound off of a Tomas Klempa shot into the back of the cage and Patrik Nagy threw a shot on net from the left faceoff circle that made it through. This goal also chased Khramtsov from the net and in came Ádám Vay. Martin Saluga brought one goal back when he jumped on a turnover and lifted the puck past Bálizs. Hayes followed this up with two quick goals to complete his hat trick and Klempa scored the seventh and final MAC goal.
FTC-DVTK 3-5
Jason Morgan was making his debut behind the bench for Diógyőr as he had been named the replacement for Péter Mayer. DVTK had been dealing with injuries and suspensions, Adrián Tóth, Balázs Láda, Jarkko Leppanen and Levente Szilágy missed the game because of injuries and Attila Pavuk was serving a suspension. To make up for these losses Tibor Albert and Martin Szeszák were making their MOL League debuts, the team also signed former FTC forward Ádám Fekti, Attila Adorján was starting in net. For Ferencváros they had been on fire of late and were missing Tamás Erdély and Attila Rafaj, Olivér Ágoston was in net started in net. DVTK jumped out to a 2-0 lead on two power play goals. After a missed assignment Nikandrosz Galanisz got free and took a shot from the right faceoff circle to make it 1-0, later in the period Jesse Dudás blasted a shot from the blue line that made it through traffic. In the second period Ferencváros made it a one goal game when Jereme Tendler redirected a shot from the blue that made it past Adorján. In the third period in less than a minute span Balázs Somogyi scored twice to put DVTK up 4-1, both were shots through traffic. Ferencváros answered back with two quick goals of their own as well, first Juha Hietamaki scored from the blue line on the power play, and later Marko Luomala had a beautiful breakaway that he backhanded past Adorján. In the closing minutes Jon Booras scored an empty net goal to set the final at 5-3
