
Monday night brought three MOL League games that really shuffled the standings in the middle and the bottom of the table.
DAB-Brasov 6-5
After beating Ferencváros Friday night Dunaújváros looked to make it two in a row, Dusan Sijka was the only player out of the lineup and Breton Lindoff was in net for Lee Gilbert’s team. For the Romanian club Zoltán Tőke was the starting goalie. The visitors opening up the scoring when Mátyás Biró managed to put the puck past Lindoff after me made a series of saves. Dunaúváros tied it up later in the period when Timor Rasulov beautifully sets up Gergely Borbas with a tape to tape pass on the edge of the crease that Borbás tips past Töke, DAB takes the lead late in the period as Péter Néemth redirected a Zsolt Azari shot. The SteelBulls opened up a two goal lead on a power play goal by Imre Peterdi, but Brasov answered back later in the period when Árpád Mihály scored a 4 on 4 goal when a centering pass bounced off a defender and into the goal. In the closing minutes if the second period DAB had a 5 on 3 that they fully took advantage of when Peterdi sent a rocket past Töke which was then followed up with Phil Busbacher stuffing the puck into the net. Brasov came back to make it a one goal game on two powerplay goals, first Mihály zipped one from the the point that Gergő Bíró redirected later Dániel Tranca ripped on from the slot to make it a one goal game. Dunaújváros fired back with an Azari power play goal, in the closing minutes with a 4 on 4 situation Mihályh was left alone in front of the net and he roofed a Csanád Fodor pass. In the ned DAB won the high scoring game 6-5.
UTE-HSC 3-1
After a long layoff the home team Újpest hopped to turn things around, since their last game they had picked up Erik Pance who made his debut, Ales Sila was in net. The visiting HSC Csíkszereda was hoping to pick up their first regulation win, this game was also the first with new head coach Artur Oktyabrev behind the bench. The team was without Marek Peksa, Róbert Péter, Ziga Kuzman, Zsombor Antal, Oleg Blagoy and the Molnár brothers, Gellért Ruczaj started in net. The first period was somewhat slow as both teams were trying to figure out the other team, the first goal was not scored until just before the midway point in the game when Krisztián Dósa ripped a shot from just inside the blueline to put UTE up 1-0. The action picked up in the third period when the Heffernan brothers on the power play set up Kalvis Ozols for a rocket from high in the slot to tie it up 1-1. Just as it felt like the game was going to overtime UTE captain Dániel Kiss stepped up as he placed a shot from the right faceoff circle past Ruczuj, with 61 seconds left in the game and on the powerplay oózef Mihálik fed a pass to Pance in the slot who scored to set the final at 3-1.
DHK-DVTK 1-2
The top two teams in the league went head to head, the defending champions were hoping to pull away from the pack. Debrecen was playing without Ivanov and Lörinc Tanka and Ádám Vay was in net. On the other side Attila Adorján started for the third game in a row. The first twenty minutes came and went without either team scoring a goal. As the game was reaching the midway point Diógyőr managed to break the ice as Nikandrosz Galanisz took a pass from behind the net and shot a one timer from the bottom of the faceoff circle that beat Vay low on the glove side. In the opening minutes of the third period DVTK doubled their lead after a scramble in front of the net when Balázs Somogyi jumped on the loose puck. With less than four minutes left in the period Debrecen broke the shutout when Vladislav Trishin snipped a shot past Adorján.
