Miskolc won the MOL League final for the first time after sweeping HC Hové Zámky 4-0. Miskolc made it to the finals by the way of four straight wins against Brasov. During the playoffs Keegan Dansereau lead all scorers with 17 points and this is why he is the 2015 playoff MVP.
Winning the MOL League is not the Stanley Cup but where does this MOL League title rank for you?
Its a good league and its getting better, we battled back to win, we came together and we are the the champions and it feels awesome.
What was the key to winning this series against Nové Zámky, the defending champions?
The game in Nové Zámky and here, we were down, we came together, they are a good team, they are offensive. We had to play smart and not turn over the puck, even though we did that in the first period, we figured it out and found a solution as Majoross always says.
What was something special that Miskolc had that maybe other teams didn’t have?
We are a real close group of guys, we came together, “Mogyi” started this before the season, we went up to the Tátras for some team building, he is a great coach and I have to give him a lot of credit for the work he did.
Now that the season is over will you be back next season?
I’m not sure yet, I have to talk to Gergely Egri first and also see where big #52 (Jesse Dudas) will be next year, I wouldn’t mind playing with him for another season, I’m not saying no but I’m not saying yes either.
