DVTK (1) - Debreceni HK (4)
The defending champions Diósgyőri VTK are the favored team however during the season five out of the six games the teams played were close battles. Both teams will be playing with short bench as injuries and suspensions have handcuffed the coaches. The squad from Miskolc will most likely have Dávid Gyenes between the pipes, who came on after missing all of last season and the first half of this season. They have a capable backup in Attila Adoriján who started for most of the season. On defence they have four players left as Jarkko Leppanen and Balázs Gőz are injured and Jesse Dudás still has four games left on his suspension. Balázs Láda will be moving back to the blueline long with Balázs Somogyi. The team as firepower up front as as Jon Booras, Nikandros Galanis, Keegan Dansereau, Roland Hajós and Adrián Tóth all averaged a point per game during the season.
Debrecen has made it to the semifinals for the first time in their history. The team got past Újpest with their starting goalie Ádám Vay only playing half a game. Vay still has one more game left on his suspension, Savva Borodin will get the start for game one. On the blue line Bronson Kovács will be back from suspension however Timur Rasulov is out for the rest of the season after picking up a knee injury in the team's last game. If needed Ákos Berta can also play on the back ended if needed. Up front during the UTE series the line of Artyom Vaszjunyin, Norbert Dancsfalvi and Ákos Berta were really clicking. Norbert Hári had to miss the last game become an injury to his face but should be back for game one. Martin Saluga who was the quarter finals MVP is also expected to find the back up the net.

MAC (2) - AV19 (3)
The two newest teams in the league are already in the semifinals, based on what the regular season series finished up like this series could be a real battle that could go seven games. MAC has a solid goalie in Bence Bálizs who won the MOL League last season with Miskolc, on the blue line they have defencemen such as Dezső Roczanov and Tamás Pozsgai who have won league titles as well. Up front MAC looks really strong on paper as the top three scorers in the league were on the MAC roster and they also have championships winning experienced forwards such as Krisztián Nagy and Dávid Szappanos.
Fehérvár will be stronger than the team that we saw during the 48 game regular season as they will be able to use five players from the EBEL squad. During the quarter finals coach Tyler Dietrich used players who were 23 and younger in Tamás Sárpátki, Péter Vincze and Arnold Varga along with Zoltán Hetényi as the backup for one game. On the blueline Fehérvár is still inexperienced even with the addition of Varga. WIth the added depth up top the team has four very strong and balanced lines. The top line of Mitch Holmberg, Chris Bodó and Brance Orbán are expected to provide most of the offense with the other three also being able to chip in.
