On Friday the Hungarian Ice Hockey Federation and the MOL League held a meeting in Dunaújváros where they discussed what the next step will be in the relationships between the Hungarian and Romanian ice hockey federations. The Hungarians acted in due course and sent a package of possible solutions to Romania.

On Monday morning the Hungarian Federation sent a list of points to the Romanian counterparts that they hoped to settle on. The first point on the agenda was allowing Dunarea Galati into the MOL League despite the club missing the application deadline. The second point was letting the HSC Csíkeszereda and Corona Brasov play in the MOL League, not only in theory as they are now but having a schedule where they can realistically travel to both the Romanian ant the MOL league's games. The third point covered the contract between the Hungarian and Romania federation regarding the MOL League.

The offer stood until August 24th but the Romanian Federation had already sent an answer by Monday evening. At this point in time Dunarea Galati is not interested in joining the MOL League for the upcoming season. However, the Romanian Federation will try to help Csíkszereda and Brasov to realistically play in the MOL League. The Romanian Federation also supports the renegotiation of the aforementioned contract between itself and the Hungarian federation.

At this time the MOL League stands at nine teams, defending champions DVTK Jegesmedvék, Dunaújváros Acélbikák, Corona Brasov Wolves, Debreceni HK, UTE, Ferencváros, HSC Csíkszereda, Fehérvár AV19 and MAC Budapest and wouls start on September 11.
