The 13th week was lucky for some teams and unlucky for others, DAB.Docler is back on top of the table with Nové Zámky and Miskolc in second and third place two and three points out respectively. The rest of the table is starting to take form as none of the other teams moved out of their positions.
DAB.Docler knew that the Transylvanian road trip would not be easy but it was an important two games for them. Dunaújváros beat Brasov 4-3 on Saturday in a close back and forth game where the difference maker was Dávid Szappanos who scored had his hand in all four goals with an assist on the opening goal and had a hat trick. The Sunday match against HSC Csíkszereda was equally close, it was a one goal game for the last thirty minutes with an empty netter in the last minute of play. DAB again was carried by Szappanos as he scored two goals in the game, picking up six points on the road in Transylvania could be the difference maker in being regular season champions for them.
The road trip to Romania was not as kind to Miskolc who slipped from the top of the standings as they only picked up two points. They were only able to beat last place Csíkszereda 4-3 in a shootout, Shane Heffernan had two goals for HSC to send the game in overtime but in the shootout Keegan Dansereau was able to slip the puck past Martins Raitums for the winning shot. Against Brasov Miskolc struggled as the were down 4-1 in the opening minutes of the third period, and ended up losing 5-3, Levente Zsók had a goal and an assist in his second game back from his injury.
Going into the week it looked as if Nové Zámky would have the easiest week as they faced Újpest and FTC. The Slovak side started the Budapest road trip with win that was closer than the score would indicate, Nové Zámky only had a one goal lead heading into the third period but the defence did its job and the visitors ended up with a 6-3 win. Erik Caladi led all goal scorers with two goals and Teemo Elomo converted a penalty shot that would become the third UTE goal. With a win against Ferencváros Nové Zámky could have taken over the league lead, there had been a shake up in FTC team earlier in the week as András Horváth, Gergely Borbás and Marek Mikusovic were let go by the team. This shake up had the team lose in a shootout to Debrecen and had them dominating Nové Zámky throughout the game. NZ scored a late goal in the final minute but that was too late. Interestingly none of the Fradi goals were scored by an import player, Illés Galló lead all scores with a goal and two assists.
With the previously mentioned shootout win Debrecen is now on a four game winning streak, they have been playing outstanding hockey since Balázs Ladányi has come off of the injured list. In the 2-1 win Ladányi scored the lone goal in regulation as well as the shootout winner as well. Both goalies Savva Borodin Krisztián Budai played excellent as well.
