The top half of the table is starting to take shape but MAC Budapest is still on the tails of Diósgyőr, and there is a three way race for the final playoff spot between Ferencváros, Dunaújváros and Csíkszereda.
During the 14th match week no one plays more than twice with the top two teams in the league only playing once. The week opens up on Thursday night as Újpest will host their cross town rival Ferencváros as UTE will be celebrating 60 years of hockey in Újpest, they will be playing in special commemorative jerseys for the game. Újpest hopes to get out of the slump they are in as they have lost three games in a row. Fradi has a chance to pick up points in the playoff race. Újpest will also be playing the last game of the match week when they travel to Miskolc to take on DVTK, who will have Jesse Dudás back for the first time after his suspension. Ferencváros will not be leaving the city during the week as their second game is at home against MAC Budapest, who will be missing some players because of the U20 World Championships.
Dunaújváros and Debrecen will be making making a road trip to Romania to take on the two Transylvanian clubs. Debrecen will face Brasov and Dunaújváros will play Csíkszereda on Sunday with the teams switching opponents on Monday. With Brasov not being double booked in the Romanian league they will have a stronger roster than what they had on their last Hungarian road trip. DAB will be making the trip with one of the hottest goalies in the league and this past week’s Player of the Week, Dávid Duschek. Csíkszereda has officially changed their name from HSC Csíkszereda to Sport Club Csíkszereda.
Because of how the scheduling worked Fehérvár AV19 will not be playing a game between Sunday the 6th and Monday the 21st.
