With eleven out of the twelve scheduled games being played the top half of the standings took another shakeup, whereas the bottom half looks to stay the same for the rest of the season.
The Ferencváros verses DAB.Docler game was postponed because of carbon monoxide poisoning, Miskolc has a five point lead over Nové Zámky and DAB.Docler who are tied on points, Brasov has closed the gap to three points behind the two teams.
What originally looked like one tough challenges sandwiched between two easy games turned out to be slightly different for Miskolc, against Csíkszereda the PolarBears coasted to an easy 8-0 win with Keegan Dansereau scoring a brace and Bence Bálizs getting the shutout. Against rivals Nové Zámky, the game started out just as smoothly as against HSC as they opened up a 3-0 lead in the first period as they coasted to a 5-1 with the five goals being scored by five different players. Miskolc closed out the week against Újpest whom they have not beat every time they season but have done it in a dominating fashion, however things were different this time as almost midway into the third period Miskolc only had a one goal lead and Ujpest had scored twice as many goals in this game has they have all season against Miskolc. Krisztián Nagy stepped up early in the game as he scored two goals in the first four minutes, Miskolc would eventually win 8-5 as Miskolc picked up all nine points this week.
Nové Zámky who haven't really been able to get a hold of first place all season after winning the title last year, Marek Uram has left the team and Miroslav Stefanka looks as if he has found a permanent spot on the bench as an assistant coach. NZ had a mixed week, they dominated Újpest 9-3 where defenceman Peter Huba scored two goals. After taking the three points against a weaker team they struggled against Miskolc, the problems continued as they barely squeaked out a win against last place Csíkszereda 3-2.
DAB.Docler who a couple weeks ago was staying ahead of the pack has slipped to being tied for second place, but because of the game against ferencváros being postponed they have a game in hand. Dunaújváros started the week against the overtime kings, Brasov. Brasov had a two goal lead in the early parts of the third period, Zsolt Azari tied the game up with under two minutes left and Balázs Somogyi scored the shootout winner to win 5-4. Dunaújváros followed up the come from behind game with a tight hard fought game against Debrecen where the winning goal was not scored until 62 seconds were left in the game, with Azari and Somogyi lighting the lamp for DAB.Docler.
Brasov could consider themselves among the more satisfied teams this week as they picked up seven point on the road trip and are sitting three points behind second place teams Nové Zámky and DAB.Docler, clearly a shootout win would have been better than the loss in Dunaújváros but that was followed up by a 2-1 win over Debrecen in a game where Patrik Polc stopped 27 out of 28 shots, the two goals were scored by Csanád Virág and Peter Klauda. The game against Ferencváros which was played at Újpest was an easy stroll, FTC took an early 1-0 lead but Brasov scored seven unanswered goals which were scored by seven different players, for the 7-1 final.
Debrecen looks to be stuck in no mans land as after the week they are twenty points behind fourth place Brasov and have an eleven point lead over Újpest, being in a situation where you know nothing will change with a win or a loss makes it hard to get motivated for a game. The team played three close scoring games. Against Ferencváros, a team that is having some issues, DHK managed a 4-3 win which Ákos Berta scored two goals. The other two games where one goal losses to team ahead of them in the table.
Újpest has played to the level of their competition lately as they are losing high scoring games to teams at the top of the table and producing low scoring and overtime games to teams behind them, they week they beat last place Csíkszereda in a shootout. Michael Satek scored all three goals for HSC in the 4-3 UTE win.
