With the season nearly at a close the top four teams have locked up the playoff spots with there being a three team race for the final two. HSC Csíkszereda still has a mathematical chance for the last spot. The Ferencváros-Újpest derby has been rescheduled for the 21st.
Miskolc has a three point lead over their rivals DAB.Docler as both teams picked up their six points on their trip to Transylvania. Lead by Zach Cohen’s two goals Miskolc easily took care of a Brasov 6-2 team that had closed the gap on the top three teams in the league and are still in play for a first round bye. The next night against Csíkszereda things started a bit slowly but in the end they were able to win 4-1.
DAB.Docler was worried about Csíkszereda but they also were able to win 4-1, against Brasov the goal scoring machine was not producing as Tamás Gröscl and Dávid Szappanos scored one goal each but only one goal was all that was needed as Janis Kalnins was able to shut the door on Brasov for the shutout. Because of game that was postponed DAB.Docler had a third road game this week as they traveled to Budapest to take on Ferencváros. FTC is desperate for points as they are trying to keep pace with UTE for the last playoff spot. With an Attila Rafaj hattrick FTC upset Nové Zámky on the road for an important three points and then closed out the week with a shootout loss to DAB.Docler. Dunaújváros in the end picked up eight out of the possible nine points on the road.
In Slovakia it looks like things are really falling apart for Nové Zámky as dropped all six points, not only losing to FTC as mentioned earlier but traveled to Debrecen and were embarrassed 6-1, to be fair Zámky is not only competing in the MOL League but also in the Slovak 3rd division, where they are also playing a full slate of games.
Debrecen sandwiched teh win against Nové Zámky with two losses at Újpest, UTE who had just signed Ales Sila earlier in the week brought their goal scoring power but also got a great boost from the new goalie. in the first game UTE won 5-2 thanks to a brace from both Karol Csányi and Teemu Elomo, in the second match up, a 6-3 UTE win Mirsolav Durak was that scored two goals.
