Debrecen continued their streaky play as they lost in overtime to Nové Zámky, Zoltán Tőke was in goal for DHK in his first MOL League start. With Miskolc playing road games back to back in Romania against Brasov and Csíkszereda both matches ended in a shootout, Keegan Dansereau scored the winner against Brasov but Miskolc suffered their first loss of the season when Niklas Sjölund scored the winner for the home team.

The most anticipated game of the week was the Budapest derby as Újpest traveled south to take on Ferencváros. The two teams had met up the previous weekend when UTE won at home, which lead to a the coaching change at Fradi. The new coaching duo of Ferenc Szakács and György Orbán did not do any better with UTE taking the win 3-2. The import line carried the team as Jussi Tapio scored two goals with Miroslav Durák scoring the third.
The other game that featured new coaches was the big Transylvanian derby with Brasov traveling up to Csíkszereda. For Brasov the coaching change helped as they won 4-3 in a close back and forth game. Finnish defenceman Juha Hietamäki scored the game winner late in the third period, he also assisted on the first and third Brasov goals to keep them one point behind UTE in fifth place.
