MOL League: Week 6 Preview

2014.10.24. 20:36 |

After having a short slate of games last week the MOL League is back in full force with teams battling it out, trying to avoid slumps and losing streaks as injuries start to stack up.

NZ-DAB, Friday at 18:00

Nové Zámky is six points behind the league leaders DAB, a win would be huge step in closing the gap between them, it would also great to start the week off on the right foot.

Miskolc-DHK, Friday at 19:00

Miskolc is in a similar situation Nové Zámky, the two teams are tied for second place with 21 points. Miskolc would like to close the gap between themselves and DAB as well as keep pace with or pull ahead of Nové Zámky. Debrecen has Brasov right on their tails, a road win is always big especially against the team ahead of you in the standings

HSC-FTC, Saturday at 17:00

This is a must win game for two struggling teams, both clubs have recently brought in new import players to strengthen their rosters. Csíkszereda would like to stay within striking distance of Ferencváros. HSC is a very hard team to beat at home whereas Fradi has not yet won on the road this season.

Brasov-UTE, Saturday at 17:00

One point separates the two teams who have been playing great hockey of late, this will be a long hard battle. UTE might be happy with any points they can get on their first trip to Brasov this season. It will be crucial for the import line to have a big game for Újpest to have a chance.

HSC-UTE, Sunday at 17:00

Playing back to back nights after a long travel is alway hard on the visiting team and playing at Csíkszereda will not be easy for UTE. It will be interesting to see how the top line reacts to the environment, UTE will need to have their second and third line to step up. HSC has a chance to pick up six points in two games to jump FTC in the standings.

Brasov-FTC, Sunday at 17:00

This might be one of the easier games for Brasov this season, Ferencváros will be playing their second game in two nights just like the host team, however they are not used to this on a regular basis especially after the long trip to Transylvania. If they have a rough game the previous night mentally they may not be in this game.

DAB-DHK, Sunday at 18:00

Debrecen has won four games in a row and scored at least six goals in each match but only letting in two goals per game. Dunaújváros is in first place in the league and will want to get back on track after falling out of the Continental Cup last weekend.

Miskolc-NZ, Sunday at 18.30

Heading into the week these two teams are tied on points and could still be tied after the first games they play in the week. Miskolc is slumping a bit but they have home ice advantage against a team that lets in a lot of goals.

Brasov-HSC, Tuesday at 18:00

It is derby night in Brasov as the two Transylvanian teams face off, the two clubs have met one already this season as Brasov pulled out a come from behind road win. Both teams could be flying high as they both have a chance be undefeated on the week. Brasov is the better team but in a rivalry like this, anything can happen.

NZ-DHK, Tuesday at 18.00

The last time these two teams faced off against each other it was in Debrecen and DHK surprised everyone by not only winning but winning easily 6-2 against the defending champions. There is little chance that Nové Zámky has forgotten the loss and will be ready for the game on their home ice.
