Nové Zámky started the week tied for second place when they parted way with head coach Robert Spisak. Replacing him behind the bench is former Csíkszereda coach Slavomir Chlebec. DAB.Docler has a five point lead over NZ and Miskolc with the bottom of the table all tight and fighting for the last playoff spot.
Nové Zámky won their only game of the week in Chlebec’s debut, which was a 5-0 win at Ferencváros, with all five goals being scored by five different players. Martin Frolik added two assists to go with his one goal, Pavel Krajcovic had his first shutout of the season.
Ferencváros lost their other game this past week as they took on league leaders Dunaújváros, the game was tied 1-1 until just under two minutes when Dávid Szappanos scored on the two man advantage for the game winner. Earlier in the week Miskolc visited Dunaújváros in a match that pitted the top two teams against each other. The home team won 2-1 with a Szappanos and a Viktor Papp goal, Tihamér Becze found the net for the only Miskolc goal.
Debrecen travelled to Transylvania for the first time this year and came away with one point in two surprising matches.
Csíkszereda beat Debrecen 5-3 after they blew a 3-0 lead, DHK tied the game up 3-3 with 12 minutes to go before HSC closed out the game with two late goals, Michal Satek had two goals got Csíkszereda with Valerii Sadikov finding the back of the net twice as well for Debrecen.
Debrecen’s second game in two days was surprising as well since they picked up the one point in an overtime loss to Brasov. Richard Filip and Norbert Hári each scored a goal in regulation - in which both sides missed a penalty shot - and Juha Hietamäki had the overtime game winner.
The goal scoring machine that Gergely Majoross has assembled in Miskolc had struck again as they put seven goals past József Pleszkán and Újpest. What was the most impressive was that seven different players scored the seven goals and Dávid Duschek kept a clean sheet in the 7-0 win, Zach Cohen lead all scores with a goal and two assists.
