UTE-NZ Wednesday Friday at 18:00
Újpest looks to show off how much their team has improved and what better way than to faceoff against the league champs. This will also be the coaching debut of Zoltán Szilassy at UTE. On the visitors side it is important that they start their title defence on a strong note, new goalie Robin Blazícek will be playing in his first MOL League game.
NZ-HSC Friday at 18:00
Nové Zámky will be playing their first game of the season and hopefully will have one win already as Csíkszereda travels to the Slovak city. The travel that faces the Romanian team is nothing new, Christer Dreberg will be making his MOL League debut and it would be big if his side can steal at least one point on the road from the defending champs. NZ forward Lubomir Hurtaj spent three seasons in HSC before splitting last season between NZ and DAB.Docler.
DHK-UTE Friday at 18:00
If you live in the Debrecen area it would be worth going out to this game since it is the team’s first ever MOL League game. There will a number players making their MOL debut for Debrecen, there will be a number of former teammates going against each other. Regardless of what happened in their first game UTE will want to show that after a dead last finish they are at least better than the new team.
DAB.Docler-Brasov Friday at 18:30
The two coaches on either bench will be making their MOL League debuts. The home side hopes to start the season on the right foot and prove that last season was a bit of a fluke with Brasov wanting to show how much muscle and scoring they have brought into the club. For a neutral hockey fan this should be a good early season game to catch.
Miskolc-FTC Friday at 18:30
Gergely Majoross makes his MOL League debut against a former team in Ferencváros. There are players on both side who played for the other team in the past but it will be interesting for Ádám Hegyi Attila Rafaj and Vladimir Dubek who spent last season in Miskolc but now will be skating in the green and white. It will be important for both teams to grab three points from the other.
Miskolc-HSC Saturday at 19:00
Both teams will probably be somewhat tired after playing the night before, luckily for Miskolc its back to back home games. This also means that the fans of Miskolc will have a second chance to see their team on home ice in one weekend. This game will be interesting for HSC to see how much their young team will be able to take the game in game out grind and travel of the MOL League. Long time Csíkszereda forward Tihamér Becze will be facing his former team
FTC-Brasov Saturday at 19:00
Both teams will be playing their second game in two nights, last season these two teams had some intense battles and in the end Brasov snuck into the playoffs and Ferencváros just missed out. After playing on the road at Dunaújváros Brasov will not want to leave Budapest without any points.
DAB.Docler-DHK Sunday at 18:00
Debrecen travels to Dunaújváros for the first time as this is also their first road match. DAB.Docler looks to show them what Hungarian hockey is all about, Balázs Ladányi will be playing against the team he played for last season.
DHK-Brasov Monday at 18:00
After playing at DAB.Docler Debrecen will have to pull themselves together and face last years runners up the next day, it will be a test of their strength. On the other side Brasov will be playing their third game in four nights on the last leg of their grueling road trip, not exactly the most pleasant way to start the season.
UTE-HSC Monday at 18:15
The purple and white will be playing host to a tired Csíkszereda team that is already picked to finish lower than the preview season. This is a great opportunity for Újpest to pick up points in the early part of the season.
