Rich Chernomaz and the men's national team opened up training camp for the upcoming Olympic Qualifying tournament on Monday at the Tüskecsarnok.
The national team assembled at the Tüskecsarnok at 15.00 Monday afternoon and hit the ice for a 95 minute game simulation practice session where the coaching staff was trying out line comingantions and defensive pairings.
One thing that coach Chernomaz did mention was that neither Arnold Varga or Attila Orbán will be on the final roster because of their injuries.
Chernomaz also talked about the younger guys on the roster. “I haven't seen some of the guys for a while, i was really looking for the strength and the skating of the younger ones compared to the older guys, i liked what i saw from someone like Stipsicz, he blended in really nicely.
You can't push young guys to push them into positions that they are not getting ready for but he's getting there. he has a good chance if he plays like this the rest of the way.
Tomorrow we will do what we did today with a scrimmage in the morning and make some cuts and to a walk through in the afternoon.”
