
After the Olympic Qualifying Tournament the next big hockey event of the season is the World Championships that will be held in Russia. The pre world championship warm up schedule has just been released.
The men's senior team that won promotion to the A-Pool last season will be opening their World Championship campaign on May 7th in St.Petersburg. All five warm up friendly matches have been scheduled against opponents that are ranked higher than Hungary in the world rankings.
World Championship training camp opens up on April 4th with the first opponent being Austria who Hungary will face in Vienna before the two team facing each other again, two days later in Budapest at the Tüskecsarnok just like last year. After facing the next door neighbors Slovenia will be making a trip to Budapest and match against fellow promoted team Kazakhstan will be played. The final warm up game will be against the Russian ‘B’ national team before Hungary makes the trip to Russia.
