The almost completely new board of the HIHF took over today and they made a number important decisions.
The first agenda point was scheduling the upcoming board meetings for the 2016-17, which happen a one-two month basis.
Between the end of the season and now there have been a number of changes at the committee level for the HIHF, and the executive board accepted these changes. Csaba Kovács stepped down from the technical and also the TAO committee as well, taking his place was techincal vice president Dr. Zsuzsanna Kolbenheyer. György Raffa stepped aside form the historical committee where Béla Tejfalussy took his place. Ilona Horváth stepped down from the TAO committee because of holding position on multiple committees, with László Marton stepping down from the TAO audit group. Bence Örsi remained on the general audit committee however he stepped down from the Women’s hockey committee.
There is ongoing discussions about the structure of all competitions and the MOL League. In the former was accepted in all age groups, the U8, U10, U12, U14, U18, U20, Women’s OB1 and OB II, Men’s OB III and OB IV, as well as the newly starting U12 3 on 3 and the Men’s U25.
CSM Dunarea Galati joining the MOL League was also discussed as well as the requirements that are needed to join, also league business as well, rules and regulations as well as the transfer deadline, along with everything that the MOL League had accepted and presented to the executive board.
The Executive Committee made their decision with regards to the national team coaches and mentors as well. The federation will continue talks with game official Pekka Pajaranen, who would be a game official mentor for the upcoming season. The Federation will also start to negotiate a contract extension with national team Head Coach Rich Chernomaz and Glen WIlliamson, the director of the youth program.
The idea of an Ad hoc Committee was recommended by the new president, György Such, that would determine the strategic goals of the HIHF and the execution of these goals.
There are plans of a committee to be set up for the possibility of a Winter Classic being played during the 2016-17 season. The member of the Ad hoc committee will be Dr. Zsuzsanna Kolbenheyer, Miklós Soltész, Dr. Barna Zsigmond, Zoltán Kovács and Aliz Szénási.
