The Hungarian national Women's team is in a two day mini camp on Monday and Tuesday with the U18 team on Wednesday to Friday in the Tüskesátor.
Everyone from the U18 national team that had played in the A-Pool have moved on and there is little overlap from the current U18 and senior teams, because of this the U18 and U15 teams need to be developed. In light of this separate coaching staffs have been put together for each squad, Tibor Marton will stay as the head coach of the senior team with Norbert Búzás as the head coach of the U18 team.
Thanks the work that has been done by clubs at the lower age groups, the national youth program has a large number of girls that are ready to play at the next level. This is the basis for the new youth system and the youth national teams.
The 2016 U18 national team will be made up of skaters born between 1998 and 2001, the girls born in 2001 are the top of the U15 team which is made up of girls born between 2001 and 2004.
Based upon this, this is how the youth teams will be set up:
U18 A- There are only a handful of girls left from the previous years U18 teams in this age group. The current squad is made up of 25 players where younger girls are called up to the squad. The goal of this team is to have a respectable showing at the world championships.
U18-U15 B- The B squad is made up of U15 girls that will be on the WSC tournament in Bolzano at the end of the year, and U18 girls that have a chance at making the U18 world championship roster or just missed making it. It is important that the girls are constantly developing.
U15 C- this squad is strictly for developing talent and could slide up to the A and B squads in the future, the immediate goal is to keep them interested in hockey.
The rosters are open so if someone develops, practices and played well they can move up, whereas if someone is lazy or discipline is needed they can be sent down.
