Player of the Week: Árpád Mihály

Brasov is sitting in fourth place after playing 32 matches this season in the MOL League and they are 32 points clear of Újpest who is sitting in the final playoff spot, it is safe to say that Brasov will be in the playoffs and still have a chance at grabbing a first round bye as they are three points out of second place. On their three game road trip last week the team picked up 7 out of 9 points as they lost in a shootout at Dunaujváros. One of the reasons has been team captain and offseason signing Árpád Mihály who had two goals and four assists and is this weeks Player of the Week.

It looks like your season has taken off since you have been on a forward line with Zsolt Molnár and Csanád Virág how has that been?

We all understand each other, it is great playing with Virág and Molnár, they are two talented and hard working players, what is most important is that we are learning from each other and we are trying to improve and get better every day.

The team went through a coaching change at the beginning of the season, how was that felt in the locker room?

The atmosphere did not really change that much in the locker room, it was more of the work and the tactics that changed since the new coaching staff is in.

How much has the MOL League changed since the last time you were playing in the league?

The league has changed a lot, the players are better both the imports and the home grown talent, it has become a nice “little” league.

Every summer you go back to the Scranton area for some off season training, what do you do there and how does that prepare you for the season?

Last year I didn't spend that much time in Scranton since I was rehabbing my  knee after surgery, however the last number of years I have indeed started my off season training out there, it helps a lot since there is always ice available and other pro hockey players around to get ready with who I can only learn from .
