After having two points after their first two games at the U20 Division 1/B World Championships Hungary will be facing Ukraine who has three points.
Ukrainian hockey is derived from the old Soviet school, they are coached by Igor Chibirev who is in his first year of coaching youth hockey in the Ukraine system.
Both goalies, Eduard Zakharchenko and Daniil Yeliseyev have been playing part of the U20 national team for a number of years in the past, this could be the most experienced position on the team.
On the blue line the team pretty much has the same defensive unit back as they had last year, even though they have international experience they have not really played outside of Ukraine. Two players that the Hungarians should be familiar with are Andrii Grigoriev and Igor Merehzko who both play in the EBYSL with Salzburg.
Like the defencemen very few forwards play outside of the former USSR, Vadim Mazur who is in Salzburg and Pavel Nayda who plays juniors in the U.S. are the only two who ply their trade somewhere in the west.
Ukraine could have some trouble closing out games and Hungary looks to have the stamina to go from start to finish, regardless of the game it will be a must win for both teams.
