Tibor Marton and the rest of the Women’s senior team coaching staff announced the traveling roster for Monday’s game against Austria.
On Saturday the full roster went through one on and one off ice practice session before the two squads scimiraged. After which the staff made their final cuts to have the roster 20+2, with 8 defencemen, 12 forwards and 2 goalies making the trip.
After the roster was annoucned icehockey.hu talked to head caoch Tibor Marton and with the youngest player, Emma Kreisz and the oldest, Nora Brgles.
Tibor Marton Head Coach: Both yesterday and today’s scrimmage went very well, the girls worked hard and they were trying to show that they belong on this roster. We have a had a good pace for it being the start of the season and most girls are in good conditioning. We had four coaches who had input on who gets cut and who makes the team, there were some hard cuts to make but I think we made the right ones.
Nora Brgles, Forward: The goal of the game for us is to really get a good look at the younger players who could get into the squad. This is new to me to see so many girls in the camp. The pace was good in today’s scrimmage.
Emma Kreisz, Defenceman: The camp was great and I think I played well and I was happy to make the team. It is hard to pick up the pace of playing with adult players. I am not nervous and I don’t think it really helps anyone when they are nervous.
