Success in St.Pölten

The U16 national travelled to St.Pölten Austria to take part of a Four nations tournament where they played Slovenia, Italy and host nation Austria.

The Hungarians opened up the tournament against Slovenia with a 3-1 win, Martin Szeles started in net and Richárd Kedves, Andor Péter and Benedek Madacsi scored the three goals.

In the second game Hungary took on Italy and Kristóf Nagy was the starting goalie. Italy pulled away for a 3-0 lead after the first two periods. Hungary scored three goals in a five minute span in the early part of the third period as Péter, Kedves and Gábor Bugár scored the goals, but in the end Italy scored to make it 4-3 with an empty net goal to set the final at 5-3.

In the third and final game, the coaching staff went back to Szeles to start against Austria. Szeles stood tall as he blanked the host nation. On the offensive side Patrik Szécsi scored the lone goal that was need in the final game to win the tournament.
