In exactly one month the Hungarian men's national ice hockey team will be taking on the national teams of Belarus, Italy and the host country of Poland of the weekend of February 6th-8th. This tournament is part of this winter's Euro Ice Hockey Challenge (EIHC).
This is a great opportunity for Rich Chernomaz, the national team coach to see how his players are doing and what condition they are in at this juncture of the season.
Hungary is very familiar with two out of the three opponents as they played host to Poland during November's EIHC tournament in Budapest, and have played against Italy in last year division 1A World Championships also held in Budapest.
Both Belarus and Italy are in the A pool for this years upcoming world championships, which means that this will be a real challenge for the Hungarian national team. It will be interesting to see which players coach Chernomaz will be calling in from the players that were in the squad in November.
