The second team that Hungary will be facing in the EIHC tournament will be Romania on Saturday at 18.00. This is the team that the Hungarians are the most familiar with since everyone on the roster plays in the MOL League for either Csíkeszereda or Brasov.
The head coach of the Romanian side is Kjell G. Lindqvist, the head coach for Brasov, joining him on his staff is current Brasov forward and making his coaching debut is Josh Bonar and Előd Antal an assistant coach from Csíkszereda.
What is also interesting is that from the thirty man roster twenty-seven of them are ethnic Hungarians with two Romanians and one Ukrainian. Unlike in other sporting events when Hungary matches up against Romania this match will not have any political undertones.
Only half of this current squad was on the world championship roster this past year.
There will be some lineup changes coming for sure as the three forwards and two goalies that will not dress for Hungary against Poland will be in the lineup for sure against Romania. Even with these changes the coaching staff is expecting to see a solid win.
