The first Hungarian Hockey Day was held on January 23rd 2016 during which over 800 kids stepped on the ice to play just over two hours of hockey.
There was postive feedback on the the idea of this becoming an annual tradition as 72 teams participated with their youngest hockey players at the Városligeti ice rink.

The little ones had a great thrill of not only playing but also seeing some of the big stars that play this game in Hungary. Csaba Kovács, Attila Orbán, Viktor Tokaji, Frank Banham Krisztián Nagy and István Terbócs all game by to check out the festivities.
The pond hockey event was followed up with the “Night of Ice Rinks” as a number of rinks and arenas will be staying open tonight for extended hours all throughout the country, here is a list of facilities that are participating in the event.
