The under 20 national team like the senior national team is also taking part in a four nation tournament. The U-20s are traveling to Jesenice Slovenia to take on the national teams of France and Italy along with the host nation from the 7th-9th. Unlike the adult team where the coaching staff wants to see where the younger players are, this is the dress rehearsal for the team.

From December 15th-20th Miskolc will be hosting the U20 Division II A world championships, and the national team looks to win and to move up one level. Because of this important event just around the corner it will help the young guys a lot that the other three teams this weekend are ranked ahead of them. The French and the Italians are one level above with the Slovenians two above.

With the importance of this tournament Rich Chernomaz has decided to travel with the team to Jesenice since he will be in charge in Miskolc as well. Joining Chernomaz on the staff for the three days will be Gergely Majoross and Bence Svasznek.

There are a number of players who will not be able to join the squad on the road, Ferenc Kocsis and Balázs Sebők are out with a concussion, Patrik Nagy, René Léránt, and Gergő Arany are missing because of unspecified injuries. Goalie Ádám Vay who is playing in El Paso Texas was not able to travel back.

The team is made up of players born in 1994, 1995, 1996 and 1997, representing seven teams from three countries.
