The U18 men's national team opened up their world championship camp on Saturday with two scrimmages, after the first round of cuts it was down to business on Sunday.
Icehockey.hu was able to catch up with guest coach Dávid Kiss who is heloing out Glen Williamson and his staff during the early part of the week before the team heads off to Asiago Italy for the world championships.
“Yesterday Glen wanted to see as many players as possible but most of all we were looking at how everyone would react in certain match situations.” said Kiss “Today the emphasis was put on tactics, power plays, penalty kills, breaking out the puck and things will start to get complicated as the week progresses. The next part of the week will be mostly filled with exhibition games.”
The middle of the week will be games against a Slovak club as well as the the Slovakia U17 and U18 teams. According to coach Williamson the Slovak federation had asked to play Hungary during this week.
