The in the Austrian based EBYSL the playoffs are set with the teams coming down to the stretch run in the EBJL, Hungarian teams are looking good in both playoff pictures as the dust starts to settle.
With Fehérvár AV19’s season finished up in the EBEL and the MOL League semi finals about to start the U20 and U18 plays are only just about to start. The Austrian U20 (EBYSL) finished up their regular season, two Hungarian teams, MAC Budapest and Fehérvár AV19 have qualified to the playoffs with MAC finishing at the top of their group at the end of the regular season.
“We finished the regular season at the top of the standings by winning the final six games of the season” said MAC U20 head coach Szabolcs Fodor. “Of these games four were on the road against teams we were also battling with for playoff positions. This was possible because this good group of guys transformed into a professional squad during the season. The transformations happened in January after we had a bumpy stretch, we sat down and discussed what was going on.”
Regardless of what happened during the regular season the playoffs is a new start, no team can appreciate this more than Fehérvár AV19 who finished fourth in their group but only three points out of first place. To make it to the semi finals Fehérvár has to get past Villach with MAC facing Innsbruck with Debrecen-Miskolc Select and Vasas missing the playoffs.
Going into the EBJL last weekend of action MAC has already won the regular season with Fehérvár and Vasas in the playoffs
