U15 Takes 4 points in 3 Games

After an overtime win and a win in regulation Hungary closed out the 4 Nations tournament in Kaposvár with a loss to Italy.

In the opening game against Austria Head Coach Csaba Máthé  gave Lajos Gőnczi the starting spot in net. Austria scored one in the first and one in the opening minute of  the second period to go up 2-0. Tamás Fajcsak cut the deficit to one in the middle of the second period and Balázs Fehérgyarmati was able to even the game up at 2-2 in the third period. Unfortunately Austria was able to take two out of the three points in the shootout.

In the second game Gergely Farkas was the goalie defending the Hungarian net. In an exciting back and forth game Bence Dézsi put Hungary up 1-0 in the first period but  in the second period Slovenia countered with two of their own to go up 2-1. Tamás Varga made it 2-2 but Slovenia scored before the period was out to make it 3-2. Goals from Bence Páterka and Márton Farkas flipped the score in Hungary’s favor. In the last five minutes both teams scored a power play goal, Nátán Vértes being the scorer for Hungary and this way giving Hungary the 5-4 win.

The third game against Italy had Olivér Galló starting for Hungary in a real battle of goalies as the game was scoreless for the first forty minutes before Máté Seregély scored in the opening minutes to make it 1-0 for Hungary. Unfortunately Italy managed to score twice it take the close fought 2-1 win.
