The Hungarian U16 national team has made it to the Kamloops International Bantam Ice Hockey Tournament finals after a shutout win over Spruce Grove.

Hungary-Spruce Grove 5-0

Even though they beat Spruce Grove in the group stage by a wide margin, it was said that that might have been the toughest game for Hungary. Head coach Glen Williamson kept on rotating his goalies, giving Lajos Gönczi the start. Hungary took a two goal lead in the first period when both András Tóth and Kristóf Rácz found the back of the net. In the second period Hungary kept up the scoring as Balázs Sábián made it 3-0, in the last minute of  the second period Hungary scored twice. Bence Páterka and Marcell Révész scored fifteen seconds apart to make it 5-0. With no goals being scored in the third period Gönczi went the distance for the shutout. With the win Hungary made it to the finals where they will face the Vancouver T-Birds.
