U16 takes 1 out of 3 against Slovenia

The U16 team under the direction of Csaba Jánosi played three matches against Slovenia in two days, in Kaposvár

On Tuesday afternoon the two teams played in a defensive battle as Hungarian goalie Kristóf Nagy pitched a shutout not only through 60 minutes of regulation but also five minutes of overtime as the game was decided in a shootout with Zsolt Szalma scoring the winning shot.

On Wednesday morning against Slovenia Gergó Bobák was the starting goalie. Hungary took a 1-0 lead in the opening minutes on a goal from Szalma, Slovenia evened it up at on in the first and took the lead in the second. Hungary was unable to get back into the game as two goals from Slovenia made it 4-1. In the closing minutes of the third period Hungary took one back on an Árpád Lőczi goal.

For the third time in three games a different goalie started in the net as this time Martin Szeles was the number one keeper. Slovenia scored first on a power play but a minute later Tömör Korcsma tied it up at 1-1. Slovenia managed to score twice more before the period was out to make it 3-1, and took a 4-1 lead into the third period. Benedek Madácsi cut the score to 5-2, Slovenia dominated the rest of the period as they ended up winning 8-2.
