
The Hungarian U18 team competed in a four nations tournament this past weekend in Telfs Austria where they took on the national teams of Slovenia, Italy and the host nation of Austria. last year all four nations were in the same division for the world championships with Hungary winning promotion to Division 1A for 2015.
Hungary started the tournament against Italy with Glen Williamson sending Bendeguz Plesz start the game in net. After a scoreless first period the teams exchanged two goals each with Patrick Imre and Dávid Sebestyén scoring for Hungary. In the third period Hungary took a one goal lead when Arnold Antal found the back of the net, minutes later Italy tied it up at three. After a scoreless overtime Márton Sági won it for Hungary in the shootout.
In the second game Hungary took on host nation Austria with Gergely Bors getting the start in net. Austria scored first but Viktor Török tied it up at one on a power play goal. In the third period Austria went up by one and again Hungary tied it up with a Sági goal, with less than three minutes left in the game Austria scored the game winner to make it 3-2.
For the third game in a row Hungary started a different goalie as Boldizsár Györi got the start between the pipes. Hungary ran into a buzz saw as Slovenia pulled away to win 6-2 with Donát Szita and Máté Gáspár scoring for Hungary.
