After winning yesterday against the Slovak U17 national team the Hungarian U18 was back on the ice for a rematch less than 24 hours later.
Head coach Glen Williamson had Martin Szeles start in net Kristóf Nagy coming in at the midway point of the game.
Nándor Fejes scored just past the midway point of the first period to give Hungary a 1-0 lead, the score remained unchanged through the rest of the period and just about halfway through the second. Later in the period the two teams exchanged goals as Renátó Tóth put Hungary back up by one however a Slovak power play goal made it 2-2.
In the third period Bálint Horváth scored an unassisted goal to put Hungary back on top late in the third period. In the final minute of play Ákos Nagy scored an empty net goal to to put Hungary up by two, however twenty seconds later Horváth scored his second goal of the game to set the final at 5-3.
