Glen Williamson and his coaching staff made their first out of two roster cuts as the team was trimmed from 104 to 66.
The roster which will make up a U18 team for the Olympic Hopefuls Tournament that will be in Budapest and a U17 team that will be traveling to Slovakia for two games. After the first round of cuts 9 goalies, 22 defenseman and 35 forwards.
Glen Williamson: It was a great day today as we had a 100 kid invited to camp which we cut down to 66. The level of play was good and so was the structure, it was a great start as was the attitude and focus. Right now it's August and we need to be really great so we can be our best in April. We keep the best players, in the first round we cut a group guys and we will do that the next round before we start to form the lines. These guys will see themselves playing outside of their comfort zones. These guys have some great focus, the skill and speed is getting better. There are more players that hit the level that we expect. This is the objective as we have more players pushing each other.
