Hungary was desperate for a win going into the last days of the U18 Division 1/A World Championships.
Hungary took an Norway on Friday afternoon, coach Glen Williamson had a full roster available for his disposal, Bence Kiss got the start in net. Norway struck early as Andres Gulliksen scored 80 seconds into the first period. Viktor Granholm made it 2-0 before the first half of the first period was over.
In the second period again it looked like Hungary was still in the locker room as Gullikson only took 20 seconds to score his second goal of the game on an overlapping power play from the first period. With just under four minutes left in the period Hungary was finally able to put the puck past the Norwegian goalie when Donát Szita skated in and fired a rocket from just inside the blue line.
In the third period Hungary managed to prevent Norway from scoring but they did score either, in the end an empty net goal set the final at 4-1 and guaranteed that Hungary would be relegated.

Anders Gjose- “We played our best hockey from the start of the first period we scored two early goals, we took a step back in the second period, we took stupid penalties and the score of the period was 1-1.
