Italy-Hungary 3-1
The ‘A’ team took on Italy during their opening game of the 4 Nations tournament in Slovenia. Glen Williamson gave Dávid Márk Kovács the start in net. Italy took the lead in the middle of the first period on a goal by Talamini. In the second period Tamás Varga tied the game up in the 29th minute of the game, however the Italians took the lead back on a goal by Bergmeister, before the period was out Bergmeister had struck again to go up by two. The Italians held on for the win with neither team scoring a goal.
Hungary-Poland 4-2
The ‘B’ team under the hand of András Horváth took on the host team, with Martin Szeles in net. Poland took a 1-0 lead in the opening minutes of the first period, the scoring picked up in the second period when Zsolt Szalmq tied it up at 1-1, however minutes later Poland was back up. In the last minute of play Árpád Lőczi pulled Hungary even at 2-2. The game stayed tied at 2-2 until the final minute of play when Miklós Gyurgyev and Lőczi both put the puck in the back of the net for the two goal Hungary lead.
