The Hungarian U18 age group will hold the first training camp of the season leading up to a tournament during the last weekend of August, where they will face Slovakia, Poland and Belarus.
A total of 44 player from the class of 1999 were called into camp, 8 goalies, we defencemen and 21 forwards. For the class of 2000 is made up of 73 with the breakdown being 5 goalies, 23 defencemen and 35 forwards. During this time the U20 national team will also be in camp with 8 1999 players on that squad as well.
The record sized camp roster will be split into six squads and a total of six games will be played on the opening day, August 22nd. The coaching staff will cut down the roster at the end of the day. The remaining players will then be split into four teams with four games following on the second day of camp. After the two days the final two rosters will be set, the first one will be participating in the Olympic Hopefuls Tournament that will be held in the Tüskecsarnok with the national teams of Slovakia, Poland and Belarus taking part. The second roster will be traveling to Slovakia to take on Zolymó.
