Hungary knew that the last game of the tournament against Denmark would be a must win game if they wanted to stay in the Division 1.
Hungary-Denmark 3-0
For the all deciding game head coach Norbert Buzás decided to go with Vanessa Horváth with Yumi Maruyama on the bench. Hungary already had a 1-0 lead in the second minute of play when Anita Szűcs took a pass from Dorka Szick and put a shot on net from high in the slot that went through for the opening goal. Later in the period Hanna Pintér took a shot from close range that was saved but, Zóra Gottlibet was on the spot to put the rebound in. In the second period Hungary went up 3-0 when Hungary was on the power play Lotti Odnoga circled around the right faceoff circle and made a pass down low that Pintér redirected past the Danish goalie. The Hungarian defence held on as Vanessa Horváth pitched a shutout.
