Hungary took three out of three in two days against Poland, who will be playing one division above at the U20 World Championships.

Rich Chernomaz gave all three goalies a start during the three games against Poland, on Thursday morning Gergely Bors was between the pipes, Gergely Arany was on the bench and Kristóf Dobos watched the game from the stands with goalie coach Gary Clark. Getting back in the lineup was Philipp Felföldy, Norbert Antal, and Máron Pápa who played in place of Csanád Erdély, Vilmos Kaiser and István Szűcs.

The theme during all three games was Hungary taking an early lead, and this was the same Thursday morning as well with Márton Pápa opening the scoring in the opening minutes of the first period. However the lead did not last long as less than two minutes later Poland tied the game up at 1-1. Unlike in the first two games the Hungarian power play was working as they scored on 50% of their power plays. Hungary took the lead back on the man advantage as István Terbócs scored his sixth goal in three games, from here on out they never looked back as the four unanswered Hungarian goals were all on the power play.

After scoring a power play goal Terbócs this time set up Mark Szaller to give Hungary a two goal lead, in the last minute of the middle period Bence Bődök also got in on the scoring as he scored the fourth Hungarian goal of the game.

In the last twenty minutes Hungary took their foot off the gas as they only scored one goal in the period, this time Bence Stipsicz tried to keep pace with fellow blueline partner Szaller as he also scored a powerplay goal and thus setting the final score at 5-1.

Bence Stipsicz-"Before our first goal, Szaller and myself were passing the puck real well along the blue line, by the end of the game we were playing a really well. The last couple of days have been very tiring but the team really was able to play well together and everyone stayed within the game plan. This was why we were able to score so many goals and let in so little. Playing three games in two days is always taxing, this was why it was so important that we execute the gameplan the way the coaches wanted us to. I think that this was our strength, that we were able to play within the tactics and we did not tire ourselves out even more.”
