The U20 national opened their 4 Nations Tournament facing Italy, head coach Rich Chernomaz gave Gergely Arany the start in net. The first twenty minute of the game was noted for the penalties that Italy committed as they picked up four infractions for a total of eight minutes whereas Hungary only had Zsombor Garát go to the box. Hungary took the lead in the second period when Vilmos Galló scored an unassisted goal. Hungary held the lead into the early minutes of the third period when Italy tied it up when Luca Barnabo scored a power play goal with Garát in the box. Hungary to the lead back on a power play of their own when Norbert Antal scored with Galló and Krisztián Szabó assisting on the goal, for the 2-1 win. The squad will be back on the ice tomorrow against the host nation France.
