Rich Chernomaz and the U20 national team opened camp today for their upcoming four nations tournament in France.
The junior team is having its last training camp before the world championships, they will be traveling to France to take on Italy, Slovenia as well as the host nation France.
Rich Chernomza gave a quick rundown of his thoughts today after the teams 100 minute pratcie session. The squad will be back on the ice tomorrow morining before teh final roster is set. with an ice session in the afternoon.
“The coaching staff that we have is really great, they are very communicative, they have been great with the translating and they are really motivated. We had a good practice everything went well and I’m happy with what I saw.”
Vienna Capitals forward Kevin Szabad talked about what's it like to be back in Hungary for another training camp.
“We covered some of the basics and the systems, one on one and faceoffs in both the defensive and offensive zones, we had a quick refresher on the tactics and what we need to do with winning or losing the faceoffs. It's a change of pace to what I see with my club team but I see most of these guys during the season when I play against them. We play a different system here compared to in Vienna which is a nice change for me”
