
The last day of the U20 Four Nations tournament the Hungarian team took on Slovenia, on the first two days the Hungarians had close 2-1 loss to France and a 3-1 win over Italy in the second game.
Head coach Rich Chernomaz started with Dániel Kornakker in net, the game against Slovenia started out fast with Hungary possessing the puck most of the period. Hungary struck first at 15:52 of the first period when Kristóf Schmál put the puck in front of the net where Krisztián Szabó put it past the keeper for the 1-0 lead. In the last minute of play Slovenia evened things up when Luka Vincec skated in on a breakaway and beat Kornakker for the goal.
In the openeing minutes of the second period Hungary regained the lead when István Terbócs put the puck in the net from close range, Zsombor Kiss and Vilmós Gallo had the assists. Minutes later Hungary had a two goal lead when Dávid took a long shot from the blue line that Schmál was able to put his stick blade onto and redirect into the back of the net. At the halfway point of the game Hungary had a 5 on 3 power play, Csanád Erdély’s shot was stopped but Ferenc Kocsis was on the spot to put the puck in for the goal.
The third period was mostly Hungary defending and trying to hold on to the win, with only seconds remaining Slovenia scored a power play goal to set the final score at 4-2.

“I dont think that we were tired after playing three games in three nights, in the first game we could have used the power play better but this was a good lesson for us and continue down this road,” Captain Ferenc Kocsis
“I think that I was playing good, I had some good support from my teammates. During the game it was a bit strange at first with the early start but as the game went on we adjusted and played well,” Goalie Dániel Kornakker
