The Hungarian junior national team opened up the U20 Super Challenge against Norway.
Head coach Rich Chernomaz gave Kristóf Dobos the start in net with Gergely Bors being the backup, sitting out was Péter Nagy, Nándor Fejes, Bálint Villás, Dávid Jancsó, Barnabás Majoross and Zoltán Nagy.
The two teams exchanged penalties in the early portion of the game but the first goal came off of the stick of Patrik Imre with Renátó Tóth getting the assist, however seconds later Norway tied it up. The two squads hit the first intermission with the score tied up at 1-1.
Norway went up by one on a power play goal, minutes later the Scandinavian team team had a two goal lead. After another even strength goal and short handed one Norway took a 5-1 lead and would close out the middle twenty minutes with a 6-1 lead.
For the third period Rich Chernomaz decided to replace Dobos with Bors in net. With Hungary on the power play in the early part of the third period Patrik Kiss found the back of the net to make it 6-2, Gergely Tóth and Ákos Szigeti were credited with the assists. Norway held on for the 6-2 win.

Rich Chernomaz: We played very well in the first period, very aggressive, in the second period it looked as if we stopped playing and started watching, because of this the opposing team had an easy time skating into our end. We did not step up enough to prevent them from coming into our end. We let in some soft goals. In the third period we responded well, the second period was a disaster, we won one period tied one and lost one. Teams at this level are too good for us to only play one period. Tomorrow will be a much tougher game than today.
