U-teams Off to Austria

The U18 and U16 Hungarian national teams will be taking part in 4 Nations tournaments this week in Austria, the U18s in Telfs while the U16s in St.Pölten. Glen Williamson, the head coach for both teams cut the squads down to 22 on Tuesday afternoon.

Williamson will be with traveling the U18s and assistant coach Csaba Jánosi with the U16 team, but Williamson will arrive in St.Pölten for the U16 team’s third game of the tournament.

The U18 teams will be facing Italy in their opening game, with the second match being against the home nation Austria and Slovenia will be the opponent on the closing day. The U16 squad will be facing the same nations as the guys two years older but their schedule is the order of Slovenia, Italy and Austria.

The U18s are going with three goalies seven defencemen and twelve forwards, while the U16 team is traveling with two goalies, seven defencemen and thirteen forwards..

“We are expecting the guys to play in the system and compete on the ice. We would like to improve from game to game, have the right attitude and keep their focus. The game is important not necessarily the results,” Csaba János U16 coach.
