Heading into the shortened week DAB.Docler has a two point lead on rivals Nové Zámky and a three point lead over Miskolc with a game in hand against both, Újpest has a one point lead on cross town rivals Ferencváros while playing one less as them.
Because of the Division 1/B U20 world championships in Dunaújváros the week of games starts on Sunday with the puck dropping between Miskolc and Debrecen, Miskolc has had DHK’s number for most of the season but the last time the two teams faced each other Debrecen came away with a 4-2 road win, Debrecen is on a four game winning streak.
The short week closes out with two games on Tuesday, Christmas comes early in Csíkszereda as Brasov make the drive up the road for derby match in Romania, Brasov will be without Róber Péter who was suspended by the team. HSC looks to win against Brasov for the first time this season in the MOL League.
Dunáújváros has an excellent opportunity to open up a lead on Nové Zámky on their home ice. Attila Pavuk will be out for five weeks from DAB.Docler because of knee surgery. If NZ wants a chance to win this game, then expect a high scoring game, but they will have to shut down Dávid Szappanos who has 10 points in the last seven game.
