
The teams at either end of the table faced off against each other in a ridiculously high scoring game.
The visitors opened up the scoring with a Marek Dubec power play goal early in the first period, at the 5:05 mark new guy Cody Crighton was set up by Dakota Dubetz for the tieing goal. Just over three minutes later UTE went up by one as Viktor Kovács assisted on a Csaba Virág shot that found the back of the net. Two minutes later this time it was Nové Zámky’s turn to tie the game up, and they did thanks to a goal from Martin Frolik. The basketball game like feeling continued through the rest of the period as visitors scored two more goals, one with the man advantage and one on the short hand. Erik Weissman had the PP goal and Andrej Sucharda the one on the PK.
In the second period Nové Zámky widened their lead when Dubec scored his second of the night. Újpest was able to get one back just past the midway point of the game when David Coleman found the back of the cage to make it 5-3. At the 36:16 mark of the game UTE was able to pull within one as Ádám Pichler put the puck on the tape of Dániel Szirányi who was able to slip it past Pavel Krajcovic. The Slovak team scored an even strength goal in the last minute of the period as Albin Podstavek put the puck past Márk Hajek.
The third period was much like the first two as both teams were sprinting up and down the ice and lighting the red light. Ondrej Stefanka scored a shorthanded goal and Lubomir Hurtaj had an even strength gaol to make it 8-4. Right when it looked like UTE was done they were able to fight back with two late goals thanks to Tamás Sommer and the veteran András Horváth setting the final at 8-6
After winning in overtime in the Winter Classic, Dunaújváros was back up in Budapest but this time they took on Ferencváros.
Arnold Feil broke the 0-0 deadlock halfway through the first period. Dávid Szappanos evened it up for the visitors at the 13:06 mark, Feil scored his second of the night 15 seconds later to put the home team up by one. A Robert Sabados goal sent the teams tied up at 2-2 into the locker room after the first period.
DAB.Docler took their first lead of the game 28 seconds into the second period as Victor Lindgren put the puck past Krisztián Budai. The visitors made it three unanswered goals when Balázs Ladányi scored to make it 4-2, FTC finally got back onto its feet and back in the game as a shot from Lajos Tőkési made it past Tamás Kiss and into the back of the net. Fradi tied up the game at 4-4 on a Mikael Potila goal. DAB took over the rest of the high scoring middle period with two more goals, Zsolt Azari and Szappanos for the second time in to game found the back of the cage.
18 seconds into the third period Antti Ojanen scored to make it a one goal game again, but that was all that FTC had in them as Henrich Jabornik and Szappanos finishing his hat trick scored and set the final score at 8-5.
Dunaújváros traveled north to Slovakia in an effort to try to stay within reach of the league leaders.
Nové Zámky jumped out to a two goal lead, Andrej Sucharda and Erik Weissmann both scored even strength goals, DAB.Docler pulled one back in the last minute of the period on a Victor Lindgren PPG. The visitors tied it up early when Imre Peterdi put the puck past Jan Chovan. In the first minute of the third period Martin Frolik found the back of the cage to make it 3-2, Nové Zámky was not able to hold onto the lead as Zsolt Azari tied it up. The game stayed tied throughout the rest of regulation and the five minutes of overtime, in the shootout Peterdi beat Chovan and the visitors took home two out of the three points.
Ferencváros travelled across town to take on Újpest in a capital city derby.
Roscoe Sweeney set up Cody Crichton for the opening goal of the game, less than a minute later Tamás Virág took a pass from David Coleman and beat Michal Meravy for the goal and the 2-0 lead.
At the halfway point of the game the home team went up by three as Coleman scored a goal of his own. Ferencváros finally woke up later in the period as they made it a one goal game, Antti Ojanen and Zoltán Pál both scored even strength goals to make it 3-2 as the teams headed to the third period. UTE tried to hold onto the lead but they could not first István Mestyán scored a power play goal and later with about ten minutes to go Pál scored his second of the game as he put the puck past József Pleszkán.
