Csíkszereda-UTE 1-4

Újpest played the first leg of two game Transylvania road trip in hopes of getting their first regulation win of the season.

Botond Flinta scored in the early part of the first period to put up the home team 1-0. Less than a minute later Dakota Dubetz put a rebound in the back of the cage to make it 1-1.

“Cody Crichton caused a turnover at their blue line and István Szűcs went in on a breakaway he took a good shot and I just put the rebound in,” said Dubetz. UTE quickly took a one goal lead as the Virág brothers, Tamás and Csaba combined to set up David Coleman for a not so traditional goal.

After the game Coleman said “I got a pass from Tamás in front of the net, then got pushed into the goalie and it trickled in”.

The visitors scored the only goal in the second period as Tamás Sommer scored from a power play.

In the third period Csíkszereda was un able to put the puck past József Pleszkán whereas UTE scored one last time. This time Coleman set up Gergő Ványi who put the puck past Gellért Ruczuj for the 4-1 win.


Miskolc-FTC 7-2

Two teams met up in eastern Hungary as both Ferencváros and Miskolc are hoping to grab at least the last playoff spot.

The home scored first at the 16:54 mark of the first period as Mark Miskolczi found the back of the net, a minute later Mtt Boyle doubled the lead.

In the second period Fradi fought back in the second period, Gábor Kiss scored a PPG on which Tamás Lencsés had the assist and Mikael Potila scored a shorthanded goal to even the game up. In the later part of the second period Adrián Toth put the home team back up by one.

The third period did not go in the favor of the visitors as Miskolc bombarded the goal. Miskolc scored three in a span of less than a minute to pull away, Jordan Knox made it 4-2, 22 seconds later Tóth had his second of the game to make it 5-2, the third goal come off the stick of Knox again. Boyle scored his second of the game on the PP which ended up being the final goal of the game.


Brasov-Nové Zámky 4-2

The Transylvanian club played host to the league leaders in hope of stealing some points.

After a scoreless first period Brasov went up 1-0 in the second period, Csanád Virág got the puck to Zsolt Molnár who shot it on net and Juha Hietamäki put it on net.

“We got 3 on 2 situation, Molnár took a shot and I came in on the second wave and put it in, it was an ugly rebound goal... Ugly goal but everything counts,” remarked the goal scorer.

Zsombor Antal set up Róbert Péter for the second home goal as he put the puck past Jan Chovan for the 2-0 lead.

Nové Zámky got back into the game in the third period as they scored two early goals to make it 2-2. Sixty five seconds into the period Erik Weissmann took a pass from Lubomir Hurtaj and beat Patrik Polc, later in the period the visitors were awarded a penalty shot that Albin Podstavek scored on to make it 2-2. Late in the game Martin Saluga scored a power play goal which game the lead back to the home team. Nové Zámky pulled their goalie to try to tie the game up but Saluga just ended up scoring an empty net goal.
