It is the second to last week in the MOL League and there is still a lot of excitement left in the season. There is still a battle for regular season title as well as the last playoff spot, by the end of the week there could be a clear cut playoff picture or more excitement to follow for the final week.
All eight teams will be in action on Friday night, first place DAB.Docler will be traveling to Nové Zámky where Lubomir Hurtaj will be making his coaching debut for the home team. If Nové Zámky loses they are will not be having a first round bye and the best they can finish the regular season is in third place. DAB will be hosting Csíkszereda, the only team that has been eliminated from playoff contention, with nothing to play for HSC could be dangerous team to face. DAB.Docler will be finishing the week hosting second place Miskolc in a game that could go a long way in deciding the regular season champions.
Aside from their game against Dunaújváros, Miskolc has two other challenging games against Ferencváros and Brasov. Ferencváros is two points out of the playoffs and have up set Miskolc during the season, Brasov is a team that is trying to get their legs back and to focus a run to the title series like last season.
It looks like Nové Zámky might be backing up into the playoffs, after their opening game in the week against DAB.Docler they will be facing an Újpest side that is in the last playoff spot and has a two point lead over FTC. UTE has had Nové Zámky’s number of late, the last game of the week will be against Brasov who is in front of them by one point.
Brasov last week gave up a two goal lead and ended up losing in overtime to UTE, Friday night they look to get some revenge.
Debrecen pretty much has the fifth seed all locked up but with at least one win this week would guarantee a playoff spot for the first year club, this win could come as soon as Friday night as Csíkszereda will be visiting DHK. Debrecen could take their last two games lightly but will still have a major impact on the playoff picture as they will be facing Ferencváros and Újpest.
Ferencváros has a favorable schedule this week, after playing Miskolc where they could snag one point they will be playing against DHL a team that should be in the playoffs by game time and HSC that has nothing to play for, a seven point week is not out of the question.
