DAB-UTE 8-3

DAB looked to win the regular season title against Újpest, and 5:02 into the game Dávid Szappanos scored the opening goal. Nikandrosz Galanisz doubled the lead for the home team at 9:58, with Adrián Hüffner scoring the third DAB goal of the period.

The second period continued where the first one left off with Victor Lindgren putting the puck past Márk Hajek. Ádám Fekti scored the first UTE goal of the night but Zsolt Azari scored to get back the four goal lead.

In the third period the home team scored two quick ones when both Attila Pavuk and Peter Huba found the back of the cage to make it 7-1. UTE also was able to score back to back goals in the closing period with Cody Crichton and Viktor Kovács scoring for the visitors, Szappanos’ second goal of the game closed out the scoring.

Nové Zámky-Csíkszereda 3-2

Fifty seconds into the game Nové Zámky already had the lead when Lubomir Hurtaj put the puck past Stanislav Kozuch. Later in the period Andrej Sucharda doubled the lead for the home team.

Recently aquired Martin Kulha scored the only goal of the second period to keep Csíkszereda in the game.

In the third period the two teams exchanged goals with Erik Caladi making it 3-1 but Marek Curilla scored to bring the visitors back to make it an exciting finish.

Brasov-Nové Zámky 3-5

The game started off with a high scoring first period . Erik Weissmann and Nové Zámky took an early 1-0. Halfway through the first period the score was flipped as kevin Wehrs set up Martin Saluga for the tying goal and Csanád Fodor give the lead to Brasov. By the time the period was over the visitors were up by one thanks to a Martin Uhnák and a Miroslav Stefanka goal.

The only goal of the second period was scored by Nové Zámky as well with Andrej Sucharda beating Patrik Polc. Levente Zsók scored an unassisted goal to bring Brasov back within one but Erik Caladi scored with about four minutes left to secure the three points.

Csíkszereda-UTE 6-1

Bottom of the table Újpest took on a Csíkszereda team that is fighting for a playoff spot.

UTE took an early lead as David Coleman scored in the first minute of play to make it 1-0 but that was all there were going to score as the home team went on a  6-0 run. Jozef Hruby and Szabolcs Szőcs both scored in the first period to give them a one goal lead.

The second produced only an Ede Mihály goal as Csíkszereda extended the lead to two.

The third period produced another three goals as Marek Curilla scored a PPG, Szabolcs Szőcs his second of the night and Martin Kulha the last one of the game.

FTC-Miskolc 6-5

Two teams met up in Budapest who are both fighting for a playoff spot, with FTC pretty much needing to win all their remaining games.

The first goal of the game was not scored until 15:30 into the first period as Gábor Kiss put the puck past Dávid Duschek, Zalán Fliszár tied it up before the period was out.

The second period was loaded with goals, 39 seconds in Tamás Lencsés scored a shorthanded for the home side with Dusán Sijka making it 3-1. Dezső Roczanov brought Miskolc back within one but a Norbert Dancsfalvi goal put Fradi back up by two. With 10 minutes left in the period Tyler Metcalfe scored and a Juraj Durco goal five minutes later pulled Miskolc even at 4-4. But less than a minute later Viktor Sjödin put FTC back on top heading into the third period.

In a much less action packed third the two teams swapped goals as Roland Hajós scored first for Miskolc to make it 5-5 but with just under 10 minutes left in the game the veteran László Nagy scored the game winner.

Brasov-UTE 6-1

With Brasov still in a tight race for a playoff spot they didn’t waste any time in trying to grab the three points.

Martin Saluga setup Levente Zsók for the opening goal of the game in the first minute of play. Ádám Pichler was able to capitalize on a PP later on in the period to make it 1-1. Kevin Wehrs put the puck past Márk Hajek and a Saluga PPG made it 3-1 after the first period. The score remained the same throughout the second period and into the third until 42:17 when Attila Imecs gave some breathing room to make it 4-1. Tivadar Petres and Martin Saluga scored the last two goals of the game to set the score at 6-1 and keep the much needed three points in Brasov.

Csíkszereda-Nové Zámky 2-3

Just the rest of the games being played on this day this game also had playoff implications.

Tihamér Becze scored the only goal of the first period to give the home team the lead. In the second period Nové Zámky took over the lead as they scored the two goals of the second period with both coming of the stick of Jakub Hrudik. Szabolcs Szőcs scored a PPG to even it up at 2-2 but a Vladimir Kames PPG made it 3-2 and Nové Zámky took the three points with them.

FTC-DAB 3-7

Ferencváros had a chance to pick up some points against a team that has already solidified the top spot in the playoffs.

Robert Szabados picked up a loose puck and fired past Michal Meravy from the slot to make it 1-0, with two seconds left in the first period Antti Ojanen put a shot on net that was saved but was able to put the rebound past Janis Kalnins to make it 1-1 after the first period.

In the second Victor Lindgren blasted a shot from the right faceoff circle that was saved but Imre Peterdi was there to score the goal, twelve seconds later Balázs Somogyi put the visitors up by two when he and Viktor Papp combined some great stick handling with nifty passing. Just before the midway point of the game Zsolt Wéber brought FTC back within one with a shot from the blue line and Gábor Kiss tied it up at 3-3.

In the third period DAB took over as Henrich Jabornik set up Andy Contois for the go ahead goal, seconds later Attila Pavuk made it 5-3. In the remaining part of the game Contois scored his second of the night with Balázs Ladányi finishing up the scoring.
